| At times, a student
may experience what they find to be a conflict of personal
beliefs involving church, Bible teaching, or spiritual doctrine.
At Raffa Discipleship School, we realize that students come
from widely diverse backgrounds and are at different maturity
levels in Christ. We also recognize that there are many
"gray" areas in the Word of God and that the body
of Christ should find unity in the absolutes of the faith
rather than division over minor, trivial, or inconsequential
issues.
Based upon this knowledge, students are not discouraged
from sharing their views in an appropriate manner, however
students need to realize that the instructor has many students
and a limited time to cover material. With this in mind,
students are to respect the classroom at all times by addressing
differences of opinion or belief in a brief, polite manner
either at the end of a class or during such time the instructor
has opened up the room for interactive discussion. If a
problem cannot be resolved within a classroom setting, the
student should make arrangements to speak with the instructor
at a later time.
Students should also maintain an open mind during the teaching
of all material, as the Holy Spirit may be trying to teach
them something that they have not yet learned, or show them
a new perspective that they have never seen before. It is
possible that what appears to be a conflict in belief, is
merely misinformation or lack of knowledge on the part of
the student. Thus, by maintaining an open spirit and hearing
ear to the Holy Spirit, we may all "grow in the grace
and knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ."
